I sorta kept my promise.... »
Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 2:31AM I came back... I wrote a super fabulous post catching you all up on my life. And then it got eaten. I was so angry, and then, I decided to go on strike. What can I say, I'm stubborn.
So here I go again.
Bloggy Land, I have missed you. I have. First, I want to thank everyone who emailed, checked in on me, looked for a pulse, and made sure I didn't die :) I was touched.
I got a job! Not the job of my dreams, and not a job that pays the bills, but a job to get some experience under my belt. I accepted a position at a small firm near school. Right now I am only working about 11 hours per week, but at least I'm learning something. I figured that since I have been so focused on Real Estate Law, it would be good to surround myself with something different. This firm focuses on Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Personal Injury. The attorney's there have been extremely laid back and have laughed at me as much as I laugh at myself. They are sarcastic, obnoxious, and total pains... therefore I seem to fit in well.
I ended up passing up two other offers. I think (hope) I made the right decision. So far I have learned that I know absolutely nothing about the actual practice of law, and law school does little to prepare you for anything other than thinking in different directions. (100K well spent,eh?) I digress... It is a great learning experience and I hope to absorb as much as possible.
School is starting to freak me out. I got behind a bit around the time of my best friend Ashlie's wedding, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to catch up. Final exam schedules are already posted for December, and I cannot imagine trying to prepare at this point.

I think you'll do okay. It's nice to know that you have all this opportunities. I think you can manage it very well. Thanks for sharing this post.
Congrats on the job. I am very jealous. It's been a long time since graduation for me and no job still. Glad to see you are back :)
I'm glad to hear you got a job of some kind. I have a link to a legitimate online job that pays an actual decent wage. I couldn't get hired because they don't hire in my state (rat bastards) but I would be happy to pass it on to you. Just email me. :)
Land law is boring subject But I am sure that you will enjoy the personal injury and family law. Personal injury cases are very much straight forward as compared with family law.
Best of luck with your job and career.
